Maurizio Mastrini, with his new single “Hugs”, urges people to return embracing themselves.
“One of the best feelings in the world is when you hug someone and he reciprocates by holding you tighter.” This is what Charles Bukowski claims and what Mastrini has put into his new song “Hugs”.
Dressed in white, with dreadlock hair over his eyes and barefoot: this is the image of him that we collected during the recording of the song “Hugs”, which took place in March in the Gesualdo Da Venosa Auditorium of the Conservatory of Potenza, during the recording of the album that bears the name of the single to be released on Easter Sunday.
The release date was not chosen by chance, because “Hugs” praises peace and brotherhood, values that are celebrated in a particular way at Easter.
The whole album was written for piano and string orchestra and evokes the importance of hugs, giving it a double meaning. The embrace can be physical, but also musical, thinking of some instruments, such as the violin, the cello and the double bass, which in order to play are just embraced.
